Part of Sam Adams’ Barrel Room Collection, Stony Brook Red takes its inspiration from Flemish reds. Brewed with Samuel Adams two-row pale malt blend, Munich, Dingemans Special B, and Dingemans Aromatic malt’, and Hallertau Mittelfrueh hops using a Belgian top-fermenting yeast strain. IBU: 10
Aged in oak barrels, Stoney Brook Red is described as being “A unique Belgium style red with a hint of tart fruit and toasted oak character.”
Sampled on 17/03/2015
Clear, cherry amber red with a thin but retentive beige head.
Cherry, raspberry and dried cranberries.
Strong alcohol is very obvious. Slightly sweet balanced by earthy sourness with pronounced cherry and raspberry jam.
Long fruity, cherry influenced finish.
