Named Dùsgadh, ‘awakening’ in Acot’s Gaelic, in recognition of its long maturation period, this 42 year old single malt was distilled in 1972 and filled into various types of cask. In 2001, Ian MacMillan, the master blender for Ledaig transferred the whisky into Gonzales Byass oloroso sherry casks
and in 2006 the casks were transferred back to Tobermory distillery to finish aging.
Released in April 2015, only 500 bottles were made available, each with a handcrafted copper card entitling the buyer to a bottle of Ledaig 10 year old from the last distillate from the now retired stills, which will be available in 2025.
Non-chill filtered.
Sampled on 03/05/2015
