This pear flavoured cider is named after the speakeasies of Prohibition America which were known as blind pig. In keeping with the theme each bottle comes wrapped in brown paper printed with newsprint under the heading ‘The City Chronicle’.
Sampled on 02/07/2015
Clear, pale straw green with light carbonation and a ring of foam.
Ripe pear, blackcurrant lozenges and elderflower.
Lightly sweet, stewed pear, cut grass and elderflower.
Pear, pear drops and elderflower with faint blackcurrant boiled sweets (hard candy).
Sweet and fruity with blackcurrant notes perhaps as pronounced as pear.
