Review and Tasting

Sampled on 10/11/2015

Appearance:

Clear, pale-mid golden amber.

Aroma:

Apricot, pear drops, tootie fruity, Bakewell tart and biscuity malt with elegant sea salty smoke and cinnamon. More smoky with water, also revealing pistachio, marzipan-like almond and faint swimming pool.

Taste:

Lightly smoky, pear drops, cracked black pepper spice, dried apple, cinnamon and peach skin with liquorice. Water reveals more vegetal and smoky notes.

Aftertaste:

Cinnamon and black pepper spice, vanilla, basicity malt and liquorice with some peaty vegetal notes.

Overall:

The second peated whisky from Pulteney Distillery, this is lightly smoky with pear drops, cracked black pepper spice, dried apple, cinnamon, peach skin and liquorice.
