Review and Tasting

Sampled on 19/12/2016

Appearance:

(sample bottle BBE 20/Apr/18) Clear, deep mahogany brown, almost black with thin quickly diminishing head. No lacing.

Aroma:

Roasted/burnt malt, caramel and faint liquorice.

Taste:

Light to medium bodied. Burnt toasted bread, liquorice and lightly bitter grassy hops.

Aftertaste:

Charcoal burnt toast, faint liquorice and light hop bitterness.

Overall:

Given its dark colour this Elf is surprisingly light – indeed it’s a tad on the bland side.
