Review and Tasting

Sampled on 18/02/2017

Appearance:

(sample bottle best before 01/11/17) Clear but almost opaque, deep brown near jet black with retentive thick tan head.

Aroma:

Chocolate malt, barbeque charcoal and sump oil.

Taste:

Medium to full-bodied. Faintly smoky burnt chocolate, charcoal, nuts and mocha coffee.

Aftertaste:

Dry, bitter charcoal and burnt toast.

Overall:

Dry, bitter, lightly smoky charcoal and burnt toast – fortunately this beer is more appealing than it might sound.
