Inspired by the traditional drink Horchata from the city of Valencia in Spain where it is made by blending tiger nut milk with sugar, cinnamon, and citrus. In keeping with tradition, Licor 43 Horchata is made with Valencian-grown tiger nuts so, although a creamy liqueur, is dairy-free.
It's worth also mentioning for those needing to avoid nuts that Tiger nuts are not actually nuts but from the root (tubers) of the Cyperus Esculentus although they have a sweet nut-like taste.
Licor 43 Horchata is best kept in a refrigerator and served over ice. Be sure to shake the bottle before use.
Launched in 2016 and originally named Orochata, this was reformulated and renamed Horchata in January 2020 so now this vegetable-based liqueur is now free of lactose and milk proteins. As the new label confirms the liqueur is now dairy-free, gluten-free, and suitable for vegans.
