With twelve years age this Grande Champagne is technically a young XO. Carte Blanche literally translates as 'freehand' and Jenssen says the name refers to their giving their cellar master "free hands to compose an avant-garde cognac - light and fruity with no additives."
Sampled on 02/08/2011
Clear, golden amber with burnished copper tones.
Floral (jasmine and honeysuckle), honeyed nose with faint cedar wood.
Fresh, lemon zest influenced palate that is surprisingly dry and woody. Light vanilla, fudge and toffee flavours.
Vanilla, fudge and watermelon shine through in the lightly spicy finish.
