Peroni Ambra blends Peroni Nastro Azzurro beer with the flavour of Chinotto, an Italian citrus fruit, grown and harvested in the region of Liguria, North West Italy. Peroni Ambra is designed to be served as an aperitivo, over ice in a tumbler glass and garnished with orange twist.

Peroni commissioned Italian designer, Andrea Morgante to design the bespoke Italian made glasses in which Ambra is intended to be served.

The Chinotto fruit used in the production of Peroni Ambra is sourced from farmers in Besio, close to Peroni’s brewery.

Review and Tasting

Sampled on 29/05/2017

Appearance:

(sample bottle best before Mar/18) Clear, golden amber with a thin white head.

Aroma:

Flour, white bread and citrus zest.

Taste:

Sweetcorn and white bread maltiness, zesty citrus, and mild cleansing rooty/bark bitterness.

Aftertaste:

Dry and citrusy with lingering bitterness.

Overall:

Reminiscent of a larger shandy with a crisp citrus bite and a long lightly bitter finish. When served over ice and garnished with an orange zest twist, as intended, this is a light, refreshing, dry drink which is indeed ideally suited to the aperitivo moment – as suggested by Peroni.
