Review and Tasting

Sampled on 18/07/2019

Appearance:

Crystal clear.

Aroma:

Wonderfully aromatic with fresh grape and almost floral pear-like aromas.

Taste:

Fresh grape flavours are captured in a very clean spirit with pear fruitiness continuing from the nose. Mild but assertive peppery spirituous spice.

Aftertaste:

Long finish with lingering fresh grapes and pear skin notes.

Overall:

Pálinka is a category of eaux-de-vie that is sadly little seen outside its domestic Hungary and Barka is an example of why it deserves a wider audience. Barka captures the very aromatic qualities that the Irsai Olivér Grape is known for with fresh grape and pear skin-like notes.
