The term "Double Oak" the label of this Speyside single refers to its first being matured in European oak casks and then transferred to American oak barrels to complete its minimum 12 year maturation period.
Review and Tasting
Sampled on 04/07/2020
Appearance:
Clear, mid-golden amber.
Aroma:
Malty creamy cereal with cut grass, light honey, vanilla and ripe pineapple.
Taste:
More fruity on the palate than the nose might suggest with pineapple, sweet peach and pear skin.
Aftertaste:
Vanilla softens toasty lightly spicy oak with cleansing citrus and lingering hazelnut.
Overall:
This approachable and fruity Speyside malt is light-bodied in style but packs a wide variety of balanced flavours: orchard fruit, tropical fruit, vanilla, citrus and hazelnut.
