Said to be "a faithful recreation of the original Burton IPA", Allsopp's India Pale Ale is brewed with Marris Otter and Chevallier malts, and hopped with Bramling Cross, Fuggles, and Challenger hops.
Allsopp's beer was founded in 1730 but died as a beer brand in 1959 until being reborn in 2021 by Jamie Allsopp, seven times great-grandson of the brand's original brewer, Samuel Allsopp. Jamie's quest to restore his family's brewing lineage has been made possible by his family's historic recipe ledger, the help of Burton-style brewing expert Jim Appelbee, and Aldwark Brewery.
