The creation of Graziano Madeo and Matthias Ingelmann, their Parafante Fig Leaf Liqueur is made in London from fig leaves, harvested and dried in the hills of Italy's Calabria region.

The fig leaves are macerated in neutral alcohol, blended, and rested before being mixed to make the liqueur.

Designed from mixing in cocktails but can also be enjoyed chilled and neat as an aperitif or digestif.

Review and Tasting

Sampled on 16/01/2022

Appearance:

Slight haze, pale amber yellow.

Aroma:

Pastry dough, coconut, fresh cob nut, and white chocolate.

Taste:

Sweet but not overly so. Herbal entry then pastry dough, coconut, and cream-of-soda vanilla. Pleasing touch of bitter tannins throughout.

Aftertaste:

Herbal green tea, jasmine tea.

Overall:

Very likable and surprisingly complex. Well suited to cocktail use. However, be great to have a tad more concentrated at 25% or even 30% alc./vol..
