Appearance:

Clear, deep coppery amber.

Aroma:

Blackened fruit cake, toasty oak, tobacco, dried apricot and spirituous spice. Floral violet blossom emerges with water.

Taste:

Toasty oak and tobacco overly dried fruit and leather with assertive spirituous spice.

Aftertaste:

Spirituous fruitcake with pleasing rancio notes.

Overall:

You may be drawn to this cognac due to its high alcohol content (I was) but there's a lot more to this Fine Champagne VSOP other than just strength.
