This special edition of Los Magos Sotol matured for 1 year in ex-WhistlePig Rye whiskey barrels was released in 2023.
Distilled from fermented wild sotol harvested from the Chihuahuan Desert and then matured in oak barrels that had previously aged 10 Year WhistlePig Rye Whiskey.
Sip neat or on the rocks, or in an Old Fashioned or Negroni.

Clear, pale amber.
Delicate wood smoke, sawn oak, eucalyptus and vegetal notes.
Spicy, vegetal and delicately smoky with chewy oak and a distinct salinity. Eminently sippable.
Grassy eucalyptus with wisps of smoke and lightly spicy oak.
If you like both mezcal and whisky then this oak-aged sotol could well be for you. It may originate from the desert rather than the coastline but it has a pleasing salinity that sits well with its eucalyptus, vegetal and lightly spiced oakiness.
