Review and Tasting

Sampled on 24/11/2023

Appearance:

Deep golden amber. (Natural colour - no caramel added.)

Aroma:

Vibrant and generous. Honey, vanilla fudge, leather, tobacco and cherry with cinnamon, clove and nutmeg spiced oak and sandalwood. Faint balsamic.

Taste:

Chewy oak and assertive cinnamon, clove and nutmeg spice are mellowed by an oily mouthfeel and fruity sweetness with caramelised apple, figs, sultanas and prunes. Subtle dark chocolate.

Aftertaste:

Dry, spicy oak with vanilla fudge, lingering oak resins and dark chocolate (chocolate particularly noticeable with water).

Overall:

Full-bodied, robust and fruity. Youthful but with a monster personality. One to enjoy by the fireside. Takes a splash of water well with vanilla fudge and dark chocolate notes amplified.
