Del Maguey Tobalá was the first wild varietal mezcal available in the US. Like truffles, Tobalá agave's natural habitat is in the shade of oak trees in high-altitude canyons. It's a small agave and eight Tobalá piñas equal the yield of one Espadín piña.
Del Maguey Tobalá is made using copper stills by Rogelio Martinez Cruz in the village of Santa Maria Albarradas in the mountains of Oaxaca.
