Since 1873, the Friart family have brewed beers inspired by those of the former Abbaye St-Feuillien. This seasonally brewed Cuvée de Noël is powerful in both flavour and alcohol content.
Sampled on 22/12/2011
Slightly cloudy, very dark brown with a moderate beige head.
Toffee, raisins, prunes and fig pudding fruit with whiff of alcohol and heavily roasted coffee beans.
Alcohol provides the backbone to a huge, roasted barley, fruity palate with prunes, slightly burnt raisons, burnt toffee and cacao. Delicate cinnamon and nutmeg spice.
Slightly burnt raisons, prunes and bitter mocha coffee with lingering hop bitterness and cinnamon spice.
