A festive ale from Stoke-On-Trent’s Titanic Brewery. This is area gave birth to potters such as Wedgwood and Doulton, and also Captain Edward John Smith who command the world's most famous liner and in whose posthumous honour the brewery was named.
Sampled on 22/12/2011
Clear, red-amber with minimal beige head.
There’s a whiff of alcohol to the malty, caramel, roasted nuts nose with faint grapefruit zest.
Heavily roasted malty, nutty palate with bitter hoppy spice. Bitterness grows on the palate to become quite unpleasant.
Dry, very bitter, over-roasted nuts finish.
