First brewed 15-November 1980, what started as a craft beer drove the American IPA category. Sierra Nevada Pale Ale is modelled on British pale ale but highlights the unique hop varieties grown in the Pacific Northwest. Top fermented and bottle conditioned with a fine layer of yeast in each bottle.

Review and Tasting

Sampled on 10/02/2012

Appearance:

Clear, golden amber.

Aroma:

Fragrant, hop-rich, grassy pine nose with orange zesty notes.

Taste:

Light bodied slightly toasty malt palate with piney grapefruit citrus from the Cascade hops and mild spice.

Aftertaste:

Clean, piney, pink grapefruit zest finish. Wonderfully refreshing.
