Part of Carlsberg’s Jocobean range, named after the founder of Carlsberg, J.C. Jacobsen. As the name might suggest, Velvet is a light golden ale which Carlsberg describe as being “soft, bubbly and sweet – without bitterness, with a vinous aroma and fruity notes.

Appearance:

(sample best before 23/Dec/15) Clear, pale golden amber with thick creamy white head and good lacing.

Aroma:

Clove with apple, pineapple, white grapes and grapefruit. Fainter white crusty baguette and grassy hops.

Taste:

White orchard fruit - overripe pear, white grapes and white grapefruit with clove and coriander.

Aftertaste:

Lingering clove and pineapple.

Overall:

Fruity and spicy - white fruits and grapefruit with clove and coriander.
