A strong barley wine beer. To quote the label, "Originally produced in celebration of the Coronation of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II [in 1953], this strong barley wine is reminiscent of the 'October Ales' which were brewed in domestic brewhouses during the sixteenth century."

Appearance:

Clear, dark orange amber with little or no head.

Aroma:

Caramel, maple syrup and Christmas pudding nose with bready aromas.

Taste:

Sweet caramelised dried fruit palate with bitter toffee, maple syrup, treacle, stewed tea and a spirit alcohol bite.

Aftertaste:

Coffee, dark chocolate and toffee finish.
