Meantime's 'Raspberry Wheat' beer is brewed with malted barley and malted wheat, and according to the brewery, "is fermented with a rare warmth loving yeast" while "secondary fermentation of sugars in the raspberries promote a shrill acidity on the palate giving the beer a refreshing tang".
Sampled on 26/02/2012
Cloudy, light maroon red with huge light pink head which quickly subsides to thin layer of off-white foam with only spots of lacing.
Raspberry Mivvy ice-cream nose with caramel and wheat.
Slightly sour, subtlety raspberry palate with pita bread, a touch of cracked black pepper and clove spice.
Lingering slightly bitter spiced raspberry and sweet cherry fruit. Overall, not as full-on fruit as many fruit beers.
