This Hefeweizen style (unfiltered with yeast sediment) wheat beer has been brewed since 1933 with Hallertauer Perle and Magnum hops, and dark and light barley malt, as well as wheat malt. The brew is matured for 30 days in cellars under the abbey garden.

Appearance:

(bbd 12-Jan-13) Cloudy, amber with slight orange tinge. Large long lasting white head with good lacing.

Aroma:

Freshly baked doughy bread with clove and black pepper spice with slight overripe banana and bubblegum.

Taste:

Wheaty yeasty bread with clove, banana and mild black pepper spice.

Aftertaste:

Clove and black pepper.
