Launched in 2009, this is one of a range of products branded after a mythical Tennessee gentleman called Jeremiah Weed. Despite the “Southern Style” name (in this case looking somewhat Asian) this sweet tea liqueur is made and bottled in the UK. Best served over crushed ice – think iced tea.

Review and Tasting

Sampled on 09/12/2012

Appearance:

Clear deep coppery amber with burnished copper highlights.

Aroma:

Rooibos, English breakfast black tea leaves and stewed tea with slight sunflower oil and cinnamon spice. Faint wisp of smoke lapsang souching.

Taste:

Honeyed sweetened strongly brewed black tea with caramel. Light tea tannins but aggressive black pepper spirit notes. Not overly sweet. (Surprisingly strong alcohol – perhaps would have been better at 30% alc./vol.)

Aftertaste:

Black tea with cinnamon and black pepper spice.
