Designed to be consumed as a shot, 'Hot and Cool Red' is a cinnamon flavoured liqueur. Launched in April 1995, After Shock Red was originally marketed with the strap line 'First it's hot then it's cool' after the products taste sensation.

Like other varieties of Aftershock this liqueur was originally 40% alc./vol. but in 2009 this was reduced to 30% alc./vol.

Aftershock is packaged in distinctive book-shaped bottles with acid etching.
