Launched in July 2007, Mansinthe is the result of a collaboration between Markus Lion from Absinthe.de, American shock rocker Marilyn Manson and the Matter-Luginbühl family owners of a Swiss absinthe distillery.

Mansinthe is distilled from wormwood, aniseed, fennel and herbs and is unsweetened and made with artificial colouring. Marilyn Manson, whose real name is Brian Hugh Warner, is apparently something of an absinthe aficionado and pained the watercolour which graces the bottle. Warner is the lead singer of the eponymous Marilyn Manson American rock band, famous for the groups' outlandish makeup, costumes and shocking behaviour. Originally, each member of the band was named by combining the first name of a female sex symbol and the last name of a serial killer (Marilyn Monroe and Charles Manson).

Appearance:

Clear, pale grassy green. With water louches very pale chalky green.

Aroma:

Aniseed and fennel with peppermint freshness. Water releases barky herbal notes.

Taste:

Classic and well-balanced aniseed and fennel with delicate spice and faint liquorice.

Aftertaste:

Clean aniseed led finish.
