A blend of rums from the Caribbean island of Roatán, a small Caribbean island situated off the coast of Honduras, aged five years in ex-bourbon barrels.

Pirate’s Grog rums are bottled in the UK.

Review and Tasting

Sampled on 22/01/2016

Appearance:

Clear, bright golden amber.

Aroma:

Overripe banana, vanilla and brown sugar with mocha coffee, nutmeg and cinnamon.

Taste:

Full-bodied. Buttery oak, banana chews, butterscotch, cinnamon and black pepper spice.

Aftertaste:

Blackened banana, black pepper and leather.

Overall:

This distinctively buttery rum with cleansing black pepper spice is let down by being bottled at a mass market strength.
