Review and Tasting

Sampled on 05/01/2016

Appearance:

Crystal clear.

Aroma:

Fermenting wort with faint pear, gooseberry and Riesling wine.

Taste:

Slighty estery and acidic. Reminiscent of still fermenting wort with faint pear and white pepper.

Aftertaste:

A slightly salty continuation of the palate with fruit notes amplified. Surprisingly long.

Overall:

This Irish Poitín has a character that is believably off a small, perhaps illicit still with attractive flavours of fermenting wort and fruity esters carrying into the finished product.
