This is the super-premium flagship vodka of the Russian Standard Company. It is distilled at Russian Standard's distillery on the outskirts of St Petersburg from Russian winter wheat using an eight column distillation process. It is then filtered through quartz crystals.

The 1894 date statement on the tall hexagon-shaped bottle refers to a decree given that year by Tzar Alexander III that vodka must meet minimum requirements for his seal of approval. The specifications which a vodka had to meet were determined by Dimitry Mendeleev, the scientist famed for creating the Periodic Table of Elements.

Launched in 2004 (USA in Autumn 2005).
