Review and Tasting

Sampled on 17/09/2014

Appearance:

Clear, pale golden.

Aroma:

Briny with whiffs of seaweed, smoked kippers, coal dust, lemon zest and pine needles. Water reveals more smoke, faint apple and hard cheese.

Taste:

Cracked black pepper, spice and peaty smoke with tar and medicinal notes. More tar, smoke and creosote with water. Faint ripe green apple sweetness.

Aftertaste:

Tar, creosote and liquorice. A polarising love or hate malt.
