Review and Tasting

Sampled on 10/05/2017

Appearance:

Clear, golden amber.

Aroma:

Pungent, smoke, TCP antiseptic and vegetal peatiness with orange peel, tobacco leaf and vanilla.

Taste:

Vegetal – brussels sprouts, vegetal peaty smoke, buttery tobacco leaf, sandalwood, barbeque charcoal, sea salt and liquorice.

Aftertaste:

Lightly salty liquorice, coal dust and smoky oak with subtle black pepper spice.

Overall:

Classic Laphroaig with accompanying peatiness but considering this is a “travel retail exclusive” the bottling strength of 40% alc./vol. may disappoint some travellers looking for more bang per kilo.
