Johnny Cash Sings in Folsom Prison

So we are drinking a...

Country Breeze

View Recipe

Johnny Cash was jailed on seven different occasions for crimes ranging from narcotics possession to starting a forest fire which killed 49 endangered condors when his truck overheated. It was probably this sort of behaviour that endeared him so much to US prisoners across the land.

After releasing Folsom Prison Blues, Cash was inundated with letters asking him to perform in prisons and he responded with several performances, the most famous was the one on this day in 1968 when he recorded the album At Folsom Prison in the prison itself.

So in gratitude to one of the greatest country singers and one of the greatest albums ever, today we'll be drinking a Country Breeze.
