Today’s National One-Hit Wonder Day was established in 1990 by the American music journalist Steven Rosen. Okay, so we’re only talking 15 minutes of fame but there have been some great one-hit wonders over the years – think “Always Something There to Remind Me” by the Naked Eyes, Don McLean’s “American Pie” or Norman Greenbaum’s “Spirit in the Sky”.
There's something about those songs that catches the zeitgeist of a moment and brings waves of nostalgia for an era when we hear them again, so why not mix a Lone Ranger, pull out the one-hit wonders you've got tucked away in your collection, and celebrate One-Hit Wonder Day in style?
