Ingredients:
1 12 oz Lustau East India Solera Sherry
34 oz Jamaican-style overproof aged pot still rum
34 oz Amaro Montenegro
× 1 1 serving

How to make:

  1. Select and pre-chill an Old-fashioned glass.
  2. Prepare garnish of orange zest twist.
  3. STIR all ingredients with ice.
  4. STRAIN into ice-filled glass.
  5. EXPRESS orange zest twist over the cocktail and use as garnish.

A very good drink indeed. Don't skip the orange twist on this one, it really elevates and brightens the drink.

That is a /very/ interesting taste. It is, as you expect, Jamaican funk but that closes to the sherry notes I still to this day associate with my great-aunt's trifle. A lot less bam bam bam rum funk than I was expecting.

Well, I made this with an olorosso sherry from Sainsbury's, something labelled 'Jamaican rum' I found in my in-laws booze cabinet and 'Fernet Hunter' which kind of tastes like a reined in, drinkable, angostura bitters. Which probably makes this a completely different cocktail, but hey, it came out quite light and dry and fresh, so I'm happy. Maybe it's a 'Nonbloom'

Lustau East India Solera recommended. A lot of cream sherry is pretty ropey.
