Review:

I've made with rye whisky to deliver that spicy punch but others specify Irish whiskey. However, coffee is the hero in this Old Fashioned so your choice of coffee liqueur will have a bigger impact.

Recommend trying with bourbon. Brings a nice roundness that I think compliments the strong coffee flavour (I'm using Mr. Black, couldn't imagine using anything else)

I am not a coffee drinker (do not like the smell). However, I do like the flavour. This was wonderful. The coffee and rye work together perfectly. Did add a tad more rye than the recipe, but it worked great. Nice evening cocktail while watching The Nutcracer Ballet recording from the Royal Ballet.

Similar to a Revolver but more coffee forward. Will try with a flamed orange peel next time.

Thanks, David. I've added a link to the Revolver above.
