Famously, the only cocktail, indeed the only drink, served since at the Damour Colette bar in Lamballe-Armor, Brittany, France. Each customer is only allowed two. Only 20 guests are permitted in the bar, and entry is strictly for those who have made an advance reservation.
The Macka ("Le Macka") was created by the bar's founder, Hippolyte Lorand, in 1928, and is named after Macau in China, where he had served during his military service. The recipe passed from the bar's first chef, Gaston Damour and his wife Maria, to their son, Gaston Junior, and then to his widow, Colette, who has run the bar since 2010.
A long fruity drink for parched palates.
