Ingredients:
2 oz Cognac (brandy)
34 oz Dubonnet, Byrrh etc. rouge light quinquina
14 oz Giffard Parfait Amour liqueur
1 swath Lemon peel
× 1 1 serving

Prepare:

  1. Select and pre-chill a COUPE GLASS.
  2. Prepare garnish of lemon zest twist.

How to make:

  1. REGAL STIR all ingredients (including lemon zest) with ice.
  2. STRAIN into chilled glass.

Garnish:

  1. EXPRESS lemon zest twist over the cocktail and use as garnish.

Review:

This is a hero cocktail for parfait amour and one of those cocktails where the bitter and aromatic oils from the lemon zest twist is crucial to the balance and overall success of the cocktail, hence my use of a Regal stir in addition to the twist.

I didn't read the description beforehand but it's completely right – this *does* showcase Parfait Amour in a way I've never experienced before. I thought it would be a lot drier than it was. Surprisingly balanced, and I agree that the freshness from citrus is absolutely essential to avoid this from becoming too heavy.
