Ingredients:
1 23 oz Straight rye whiskey (100 proof /50% alc./vol.)
12 oz Strucchi Dry Vermouth
12 oz Bénédictine D.O.M. liqueur
14 oz La Vieille Prune plum brandy
2 dash Angostura Aromatic Bitters
2 dash Orange Bitters by Angostura

How to make:

  1. Select and pre-chill a Nick & Nora glass.
  2. Prepare garnish of orange zest twist.
  3. STIR all ingredients with ice.
  4. FINE STRAIN into chilled glass.
  5. EXPRESS orange zest twist over the cocktail and use as garnish.

Review:

As per the original, I've used a bottled-in-bond strength rye whiskey but some may want to add a splash more of it to this well-balanced Manhattan-style cocktail.

Adapted from a recipe created in 2014 by Tom Macy at Clover Club bar in Brooklyn, New York City, USA, who named his cocktail after a neighbourhood of Brooklyn.

Very good. The second time tasting this, I substituted my homemade fig liquor for the plum brandy, and it turned out even better
