Review:

A pleasant spirit-forward after-dinner cocktail, which I prefer with a generous spray from an orange zest twist but that's perhaps straying away from what this classic should be.

History:

Adapted from a recipe in Harry Craddock's 1930 The Savoy Cocktail Book.

WHIST COCKTAIL.
¼ Bacardi Rum.
¼ Italian Vermouth.
½ Calvados.
Shake well and strain into cocktail glass.
This is a delightful drink that has been known in the West Indies for countless years. It might be described as a West Indies "Sundowner".

Excellent after-dinner cocktail. Spirit forward, but very flavourful. Perfect after a large supper and watching a concert.
