Serve in a Coupe glass

Ingredients:
1 13 oz Rémy Martin V.S.O.P. cognac
12 oz Pineau des Charentes blanc
12 oz Blanc quinquina/kina (e.g. Mattei Cap Corse, Bonal or Kina L'Aér
12 oz Aromatized wine (e.g. Lillet Blanc)
16 oz Orange Curaçao liqueur
1 dash Angostura Aromatic Bitters
× 1 1 serving

How to make:

  1. Select and pre-chill a Coupe glass.
  2. Prepare garnish of lemon zest twist.
  3. STIR all ingredients with ice.
  4. FINE STRAIN into chilled glass.
  5. EXPRESS lemon zest twist over the cocktail and use as garnish.

History:

Created in February 2023 by yours truly thanks to a comment on our Barney Barnato Cocktail page by a fellow Discerning Drinker called Ben who, due to sourcing issues, had subbed kina aromatised wine for Pineau des Charentes in the recipe. I like the dry quinine notes in the kina so I retained it in this rendition of the Barney Barnato with added Pineau inspired by Ben's comment. Many thanks, Ben.
