STIR all ingredients with ice and strain into chilled glass.

1 2/3 fl oz | Dry full-bodied vermouth (e.g. Ambrato) (chilled) |
1/24 fl oz | Mentzendorff Kümmel liqueur |

Review:
A Fifty-Fifty Martini with a touch of kümmel. Your choice of dry vermouth (you need a characterful one) and temperature are key to this cocktail's success. Freeze/chill all ingredients and the glass prior to mixing and it can be brilliant.

½ French Vermouth
½ English Gin
2 dashes Russian Kummel
Stir well in a mixing glass with cracked ice, strain and serve.
Created during World War I (1914-1918), this cocktail refers to an alliance between English gin, French vermouth and (Russian) kummel (the origins of which are linked to Tsar Peter the Great).

- 25.93% alc./vol. (51.86° proof)
- 26.3 grams of pure alcohol
