Ingredients:
2 oz Del Maguey Vida Clásico Mezcal
12 oz Dark crème de cacao liqueur
14 oz Amaro Montenegro
8 drop Chocolate bitters
2 dash Orange Bitters by Angostura
× 1 1 serving

Prepare:

  1. Select and pre-chill an OLD-FASHIONED GLASS.
  2. Prepare garnish of orange zest twist.

How to make:

  1. STIR all ingredients with ice.
  2. STRAIN into ice-filled glass (preferably over a large cube or chunk of block ice).

Garnish:

  1. EXPRESS orange zest twist over the cocktail and use as garnish.

History:

Adapted from a recipe created in 2017 by José Cardenas at Raines Law Rooms in New York City, USA. Named after the Spanish word for 'marigold', an appropriate name as this is a riff on Becky McFalls' African Flower. (Originally made with Amaro Sfumato.)

The mezcal is honestly too overpowering. I liked it overall but I'd go 50:50 tequila and mezcal.
