Serve in a Coupe glass

Ingredients:
1 12 oz Ambrato/ambre/amber vermouth
1 12 oz Rubino vermouth
13 oz Amer Picon
× 1 1 serving

How to make:

  1. Select and pre-chill a Coupe glass.
  2. Prepare garnish of lemon zest twist.
  3. STIR all ingredients with ice.
  4. FINE STRAIN into chilled glass.
  5. EXPRESS lemon zest twist over the cocktail and use as garnish.

History:

Adapted from a recipe published in the 1911 book, Beverages de Luxe.

HICKORY COCKTAIL
Supposed to be originated by Old General Hickory and much used in New Orleans.
One-half French Vermouth.
One-half Italian Vermouth.
One teaspoon Ami Picon.
Iced and strained to cocktail glass, then squeeze oil of a piece of lemon therein.
