As you'd expect from Morgenthaler, a very tasty and balanced drink. It's nothing unique - it's a blackcurrant whiskey sour - but it's still great.

I really liked this cocktail. Citrus sourness come through but not too much and it plays well off the Bourbon.

I love this drink and have enjoyed it many times – some directly from the hand of Mr. Morgenthaler. Just recently, however, I discovered I was out of Bourbon, so I decided to sub in Johnny Walker Black. Still works! And thus, a new drink ‘round my house was born: The Urbane Restorative – an homage to the late Christopher Hitchens, whose love of “Mr. Walker’s Amber Restorative” was no secret. And in proper tribute, I then proceeded to take on all comers in a spirited defense of whiskey sours.

Great. Interesting mixture of the fruit and bourbon. Would be good before or after dinner.
