Variant:

Frozen Jägerita

History:

Origin: Created by David Cordoba and made in September 2008 for yours truly and others to try at my Cabinet Room in London. Jeffrey Morgenthaler, who was among the influential bartenders present that night, took the Jägerita back to Portland, Oregon, where he wrote about that night and David's whacky Margarita on JeffreyMorgenthaler.com. Then, in 2014, he included it on the opening menu of his bar, Pépé Le Moko. Thanks to Morgenthaler's influence, the Jägerita has gone on to become a contemporary classic.

Nutrition:

One serving of Jägerita contains 183 calories

Alcohol content:

  • 1.3 standard drinks
  • 19.16% alc./vol. (19.16° proof)
  • 18.2 grams of pure alcohol

Very good cocktail. It shows really well that Jägermeister can be use to make good cocktails and that its flavor can really mix well in a drink other than Jäger bombs... I feel like Jägermeister is really underrated in the cocktail game and deserve better.

Felt it was a bit lime heavy, especially without salt; dashed a bit in afterwards which helped. Very drinkable for someone who hasn't in years.

The lime looked ripe, and so I dispensed with the syrup. Delicious!

Perfect refreshing drink on a hot and humid day (which is everyday here)!

I would either up the Jägermeister or drop the lime/sugar syrup a wee bit to amplify the flavours of the lead character.
