I used a Jamaican rum and it improved the taste greatly IMO

Just made a modified lighter version of this subbing triple sec, and it was delicious.

I like rum. This is a very traditional tiki drink. Did find it very tasty, but a bit sweet. Added 1/2 oz of 151 rum and stirred into the drink. It did turn a bit green, but not as sweet.

I made this drink according to the recipe here, and it came out well. The reduced cream of coconut is what attracted me to this recipe, because I used homemade cream of coconut, and the process of making my own let me know exactly how much sugar is in that stuff. The result was very pleasant. Of course, the most important quality of any blue curacao drink is that it should be blue, but this one is also pretty tasty. It packs a little bit of a punch though, with 45ml of rum and 40ml blue curacao.

Quite a delicious cocktail and it is quite easy to make. However I found it a bit too sweet. Next time I would put less coconut cream (Re’al)

Agreed! I've reduced the cream of coconut to 30ml accordingly and also upped the blue curacao to rebalance and make the drink a touch bluer.
