Review:

This cocktail screams for richness, hence my choice of old tom gin instead of the dry gin in the 1930 The Savoy Cocktail Book recipe.

Simon/Paloma, just to flag: while you specify Old Tom in the text, the recipe gives London Dry.

Many thanks for bringing to our attention, Toby. Now corrected to old tom.

Decent and dry and, frankly, well balanced. I used Beefeater and as Simon says , this cocktail screams for richness. Would have used old tom had I had it. Maybe even genever.

Interesting cocktail, I think it is better with a couple of Angostura bitters dashes
