History:

Named after Balmoral Castle in Aberdeenshire, the Scottish country residence of the British Royal family since Prince Albert, the husband of Queen Victoria, bought the original castle and estate in 1852. The present larger castle was completed in 1855. Numerous online sources reference the Balmoral cocktail as a 'classic', but so far, I've been unable to find it in any vintage cocktail book.

One serving of Balmoral contains 174 calories

I know it should be obvious but, this is a stirred cocktail right? Why the method doesn't appear on the recipe?

Yes, it should be stirred. Many thanks for bringing the missing sentence in the method to my attention. Now corrected.

Kinda, sorta Manhattan/ Martini ish.
Nonetheless, it’s a keeper for me. Easy to make as it doesn’t contain any exotic ingredients that would cause me to scurry to Total Wine in search of some esoteric liqueur made by secretive Monks only during a full moon. 😊
