This deep lurid reddy-brown cocktail won't be to everybody's taste but that's only to be expected with one-and-a-half shots of bitters. However, if you like cough candy then perhaps this cocktail is for you.

I read it several times to make sure the ingredients weren't inverted :D

Just received my first bottle of Bitter Truth Bogart's Bitters... Couldn't think of a better drink to try it in... As good if not better... My orgeat is Giffard, my rye Sazerac... Cheers! (24 Jun 2023, 2:33p)

I'm just going to copy what Alex J said: this shouldn't work. But it does. Just wave after wave of spices. Not at all like what I expected from standing there emptying quarter of a bottle of bitters into a jigger.

Made another one with my newly restocked bitters: yes, it's like drinking liquified cloves and rust. Yes, it's delicious. Yes, you have to try this.

A spectacular drink. I'm not usually a fan of something so clove forward but this is lovely.

This shouldn't work. But it does. I may no longer go years between my Angostura bottles!

(P.S. typo in the instructions: "fine stain")

Thanks, Alex. Stray 'r' is now inserted. I make far too many typos.

I can’t quite figure out what I think about this very bizarre but not unpleasant cocktail. I like it?

This is my new favorite cocktail. I’ve introduced to my set of friends and they agree: it’s a winner.

Definitely an interesting cocktail. I wanted to try something different and my partner and I both agree - 3 fl oz of bitters is definitely different! It’s worth a try!
